To make a garden
Is not too hard
Fix it up real nice
All flowers, looking happy
Let the sun shine
All will be right.
To make a garden
Paper cut flowers
Roses, peonies, lilacs
All up-right, of course
Any I’d like
Any to make bright.
To make a garden
I thought all to be well
But what is well with no root.
To make a garden
He came
One shining brighter than the sun
One full of life to come.
To make a garden
He walked
Each flower I made
Became real, more than real
There was life, where there was death
And my paper cut flowers
Blossomed, took root, and spread seed.
To make a garden
He is coming, making all things new.
